How to choose an adult SEO company (without getting burned)

Hiring the wrong adult SEO company is worse than hiring nobody at all.

Do nothing and your rankings stay flat. Hire the wrong firm and they can hand you a bucket of footprinted links or a wall of spun content that drops your domain into a hole — one that takes longer to climb out of than it took them to dig. “Nothing happened” is recoverable. “Google penalised us” is a different kind of month.

So the stakes are real, and the field is crowded with people who sound identical on their homepage. Here’s how to tell them apart before any money changes hands. Five questions. Watch how they answer more than what they answer.

“How many adult sites have you actually ranked — and in which verticals?” Plenty of mainstream agencies list adult somewhere on a services page, then apply the same generic playbook the second you sign, until they hit a content filter and go quiet. A real specialist has scars. They’ll name verticals — cam, escort, tube, dating, toys — and talk about the differences between them without prompting. Vagueness here is your first exit.

“Where do the links come from?” This is where adult SEO is won or lost, so push hard and don’t accept a shrug. Are the links topically relevant or generic directories? Is it the same expired-domain network everyone else buys from, or something with real history and clean footprints? If the answer gets fuzzy the moment you ask for specifics, assume the links are the cheap, risky kind — because a provider proud of their sources will happily describe them.

“How do you handle footprints?” A firm that never brings up footprints hasn’t thought about them, which means yours isn’t protected. Good agencies don’t link every client from the same handful of domains, don’t share analytics IDs across a network, and don’t reuse identical templates. That discipline is invisible when it works and catastrophic when it’s missing — and only the people who take it seriously mention it unasked.

“What’s a realistic timeline for my keywords?” Anyone promising page one in a month for a competitive adult term is selling a fantasy or planning to burn your domain to fake fast progress. The trustworthy answer is sometimes the annoying one: that keyword is a two-quarter fight. You want the firm willing to say it out loud.

“What does your reporting look like?” You should get real visibility — rankings, traffic, what was done and why — not a monthly “trust us, it’s working.” Thin reporting almost always sits on top of thin work.

The right question isn’t “how fast can you rank me?” It’s “how will this link profile look to Google a year from now?”

Run every provider past those five and most of the field falls away fast. The ones left standing are worth a conversation. If you’d like to see how we answer them, read about how we work — or just send us your domain and let the free audit do the talking.
